If you’re visiting Malta in December, you’ll notice that Christmas celebrations on the island are in full-swing. Despite the warm winter weather, the festive season starts early in Malta, as locals love to decorate their homes and spread the warmth throughout the holidays. By now, many Maltese families will have already gotten out their Christmas trees, set up their traditional cribs and started preparing tonnes of mince pies, filling their homes with the joy of Christmas.

The festivities are also taking place outdoors, with numerous Christmas markets being set up throughout December. From traditional treats to artisanal gifts, these markets are worth visiting during your winter holiday in Malta.
