AX ODYCY wins Two Regional Level Recognitions at the European Property Awards 2025!

AX ODYCY is on a roll, adding more industry accolades to the growing collection! Following its triumph for Malta last October winning four awards at country level, the hotel advanced to the European Property Awards – Regional Level. At a ceremony held at The Savoy in London on Thursday 20th February, ODYCY secured two additional accolades for Best Leisure Development and Best Masterplan for all of Europe.

Representing AX Group at the ceremony were CEO & Deputy Chairman, Michael Warrington and Managing Director of Finance & Administration Albert Bonello. Reflecting on AX ODYCY’s journey so far following the acceptance of the awards, Mr. Warrington shared:

“When we decided it was time to redevelop AX ODYCY, we saw it as a chance to completely reimagine the former beloved Suncrest and offer a fresh take on hospitality for a diverse demographic of modern travellers and holidaymakers. Our goal was to turn it into a year-round destination that brings something new and exciting to the Qawra coast, while also offering beautiful and functional spaces to suit different needs. These awards are a testament to the quality and vision we’ve put into AX ODYCY and we’re confident that it will continue to have an impact for many years to come.”

Together with various divisions and departments within AX Group, the AX ODYCY project was brought to life by our AX Development team, spearheaded by our Director Denise Xuereb, together with ODYCY’s Team, led by Director of Hospitality Claire Zammit Xuereb, alongside renowned architectural firm Box Concept Studio and in collaboration with designers Simon Abela and Sarah Brincat.

As AX ODYCY nears its two-year anniversary since its opening, it’s not just winning over the industry, but has become a firm guest favourite too. In fact, the hotel continues to see incredible demand, with glowing reviews and high ratings across major booking sites.

General Manager Mr Joseph Vella shared his thoughts: “No matter how innovative or inspiring a masterplan is, its true success ultimately comes down to how its intended audience connects and engages with it. And on this front, the response has been incredible, not only from international guests but also from the local market. AX ODYCY has become a go-to destination for coastal getaways in Malta. Whether it’s our diverse dining experiences, pools and water park, kids’ play areas, dedicated adults-only spaces or other leisure facilities, we will continue to work hard to ensure guests choose AX ODYCY for our exciting and well-rounded hospitality offering that offers something for everyone, all year round.”
