Welcome to our beautiful destination! To ensure everyone has a pleasant and respectful experience, please follow our Good Behaviour Guidelines. This guide covers essential practices for preserving our environment, respecting cultural heritage, and observing social norms.
Environmental Good Behaviour
- Take care of the natural environment when exploring our countryside and coast.
- Dispose of litter properly and recycle when possible.
- Stick to marked pathways to avoid damaging the delicate plants that make up our unique habitats.
- Leave natural souvenirs, such as wildflowers, plants, pebbles, and seashells, where you find them for others to enjoy.
Cultural Good Behaviour
- Respect our historical and cultural heritage sites; photography is allowed in some places, but using flash may be prohibited.
- Arrive promptly at churches to avoid being refused entry during ongoing services.
Social Good Behaviour
- Dress respectfully when visiting churches. Remove hats and sunglasses, and cover your knees and shoulders. Some churches provide shawls or skirts for inappropriately dressed visitors. Avoid wearing stiletto or narrow-heeled shoes on inlaid marble floors.
- Avoid wearing bathing suits in public areas. Beachwear is for beaches and outdoor pools only.
- Topless sunbathing is not allowed.
- Smoking is not permitted indoors in public places, including bars, pubs, cafés, restaurants, public transport, Gozo Ferry services, cinemas, theatres, hospitals, public gardens, playing fields, and schools. Designated smoking areas may be available, and many establishments offer outdoor seating for smokers.
