What is Malta Pride Week 2019 all about?

Malta Pride 2019, organised by the island’s very own Allied Rainbow Communities (ARC), includes the Malta Pride Parade and numerous events taking place throughout the week. This year’s theme is ‘From Riots to Rainbows, 50 years since Stonewall’, and will consist of over 15 unique events spread over the course of 10 days.

To kick off the week on Friday 6 September, a fabulous fashion night and after party will take place, as well as a documentary film screening in Valletta. The weekend will be packed with super-fun events, such as a Drag Lip Sync Battle and Pride Boat Party. There will be numerous educational and networking events taking place throughout the week, such as the Human Rights Conference held at AX The Palace in Sliema, an LGBTIQ+ community discussion and meet-ups organised by Rainbow Families Network Initiative and WomenSpace, to name a few. Check out the full programme of events here and book your stay at one of our AX Hotels to be able to join in the fun!

The Malta Pride Parade 2019

The Malta Pride Parade is growing year after year, and this year’s edition is expected to be bigger and brighter than ever before. The Malta Pride Parade will take place on Saturday, 14th September and everybody is welcome. People will start gathering at 17:00hrs at The Granaries (Il-Fossos) in Floriana to see the performances, giveaways and speeches taking place before the march begins. Then, the colourful crowds will make their way to St. George’s Square in Valletta, where a free concert will go on until 23:00hrs. The fun won’t stop here – head to the Official Pride after-party at Gianpula Fields, Rabat to keep on partying until the early hours of the morning!

Last year, the number of participants reached an all-time high as people of all ages carried their rainbow flags across Valletta. Will you be joining in the Malta Pride Parade 2019 in Valletta and helping to break the record?
