Pay a Visit to the Local Cinema

Malta is one of the first countries in Europe to have the latest film releases and the selection includes blockbusters, art house films and everything in between. The islands have four main cinema complexes; Eden Cinemas in St. Julians, the Empire Cinema Complex in Bugibba, the Tal-Lira Cinema in Fgura and Citadel Cinema in Victoria, Gozo.  If mainstream movies are not something you particularly enjoy, consider paying a visit to the cinema over at Spazju Kreattiv at St. James Cavalier in Valletta which is aimed more at the cinema buffs and includes art house films, re-releases and foreign language films. So grab your popcorn, sit back and enjoy.

Go Underwater With the Malta National Aquarium

The Malta National Aquarium, located in Qawra, was designed with the intent of replicating certain scenic underwater locations all over the islands including the Blue Grotto, the Grand Harbour, and certain parts of Gozo and Comino, to tell the story of culture and conversation. Apart from native species, one can also find species from all over the world in the main aquarium, such as sharks, ray-stings and coral reef species. Upon visiting, it is possible to see the different breeds up-close as there is an impressive water tunnel which you can pass through.
